Who Should Attend
The DX100 Electrical Maintenance Course is a secondary-level course to the Yaskawa Motoman industrial robots. This course provides an electrical overview of DX100 series robots. XRC Basic Programming or XRC Preventive Maintenance are prerequisites to taking this course.
The training module consists of classroom lectures in which Yaskawa Motoman instructors present course material consisting of electrical components of the controller, reinforced with hands-on time for the students. The topics are related to real-world examples and applications. Students enhance the materials covered in the lectures with actual hands-on electrical maintenance time both in the classroom and in the Yaskawa Motoman Canada Ltd. 2400 square foot demonstration and training laboratory. Students work in teams to perform workshop exercises. Classes are kept small in size, typically 6 or fewer students, in order to promote an interactive, hands-on learning atmosphere. This allows the students to work with each other and YMC instructors in order to grasp the concepts covered in class.
Students receive a copy of the DX100 Maintenance Manual which details maintenance functions and instruction techniques for the Yaskawa Motoman DX100 controller. Additional handouts are provided relating to specific topics covered in the class. Students are urged to take notes, participate in discussions and to bring up specific maintenance issues.
Yaskawa Instructors cover topics which enable the students to perform electrical maintenance of the robot. An overview of the primary topics covered in the course is provided below: - I/O Connections - Basic Servo Theory - Power Distribution - Circuit Board Replacement - Hardware Architecture - Elementary Diagrams - Electrical Troubleshooting
