Who Should Attend
The XRC SK-X & UP-Series Maintenance Module Course is a preventative maintenance troubleshooting course to the XRC Controller and programming of the Motoman® SK-X Series and UP-Series industrial robots. No prior knowledge of robot programming or of the XRC Controller is required.

Course Overview
The training module consists of classroom lectures in which Motoman instructors present course material consisting of programming and maintenance commands, reinforced with demonstrations. The commands and topics are related to real-world examples and applications. Students enhance the materials covered in the lectures with actual hands-on maintenance in the Yaskawa Motoman Canada Ltd. 2400 square foot, demonstration and training laboratory. Students work in teams to perform workshop exercises. Classes are kept small in size, typically 12 or fewer students, in order to promote an interactive, hands-on learning atmosphere. This allows the students to work with each other and YMC instructors in order to grasp the concepts of operating and maintaining a robot.

Course Materials
Students receive a copy of the XRC SK-X/UP Series Maintenance Manual, which details installation, maintenance, electrical diagrams, spare parts, etc. for the appropriate SK-X or UP series robot models. Additional handouts are provided relating to specific topics covered in the class. Students are urged to take notes, participate in discussions and to bring up specific programming issues.

Topics
YMC Instructors cover topics which enable the students to mechanically and electrically maintain a robot. An overview of the primary topics covered in the course is provided below: - Overview of Basic Programming - Basic Servo Theory - XRC Controller Hardware Architecture - Servopack Replacement Procedures - Circuit Board Replacement - Speed Reducer Replacement - I/O Connections - Motor Replacement - Power Distribution - Preventative Maintenance Schedule - Axes Hard Stops
