Helpful Hints

Each issue of Motoman Direct includes "helpful hints" designed to provide bits of practical advice and programming tips that will help our customers maximize the productivity of their Motoman robots.

Problem: I would like to add an interface panel to my NX100 controller, but I don't have thousands of dollars or a lot of time to spend on it.

Solution: The Motoman NX100 controller has an onboard Interface Panel Option, right on the teach pendant.  The Interface (IF)panel has 10 individual screens with 24 possible buttons on each.  The buttons on the IF panel can directly control Universal I/O or 6,000 series bits in the ladder.  For more details, please see instruction manual 149648-18.

Problem:  I want to make changes to the ladder program in my NX100, but the Motoman ladder uses Boolean logic and the text editing is difficult.

Solution: With the release of the NX100 controller, Motoman has created a Ladder Editor for the pendant.  Now you can easily view, monitor status, and edit the ladder using a graphical display.  Touch [IN/OUT], [LADDER EDITOR] to display the ladder.  Please see operators manual 149827-1 for more details.
