The ArcWorld® III-6000 series is a family of fully integrated, pre-engineered robotic arc welding solutions with a 300 kg, 600 kg (HD) or 900 kg (XHD) capacity servo-controlled trunnion positioner. These single-robot (AWIII-6000), dual-robot (AWIII-6200) or triple-robot (AWIII-6300) workcells are designed to meet high-volume production for medium-size parts. Coordinated motion allows the robot(s) to weld while parts are turning on the positioner.

The AWIII-6000 series features the high-speed SSA2000 arc welding robot; NX100 controller; integrated welding package; MRM2-300/600/900M1X servo-controlled trunnion positioner; operator station; and total safety environment – all the automation required for robotic arc welding.

  • Safety features – enhanced dual-channel E-Stop functionality, integrated speed monitoring, manual brake release for the robot, and compliance with both U.S. and Canadian safety standards.

Part Positioner: MRM2-M1X Series

  • Positioner available with 300-, 600- or 900-kg payload capacity.
  • Fast positioner index times of 2.9, 4.1 or 6.3 seconds. Headstock rotation speeds of 33, 28 or 23 rpm.
  • Patented single-motor drive reduces parts and locks operator side to eliminate hazardous motion.
  • Patent pending MotoMount™ fixture mounting system eases fixture changes and provides standard 3.0 meter length with 1.3 meter turning dia.
  • Standard utilities include 8 mm ID air line in headstock and 45 mm thru-hole – optional slip rings allow continuous rotation for fixture signals.

Coordinated Motion

  • The easy-to-program MRM2 positioner provides coordinated motion and infinite part positioning. The weld joint can be kept in a gravity-neutral welding plane, improving weld quality.
  • Productivity is increased because the robot is not idle while the part is repositioned. Motoman’s Twin Synchronous software allows two or three robots to be coordinated with the positioner.
