| Q: We like the robot we are
currently using, but it's older and beat up. Is there a
way we can have our robot refurbished? |
| A: Yes! Motoman offers customized refurbished
robotic solutions to meet your needs. We can work with you
to develop a schedule to get your robots refurbished, either
through a core exchange program where you send your robot
to us and we send you a new one in return, or we can refurbish
each unit as you send them to us. Many of our customers
have taken advantage of our refurbishment program and are
quite pleased with the results. |
| Q: We have owned our robots
for some time and trained our staff when the robots were
new. Since then, many of our staff have moved on to other
areas. Can we still get training on these older robots for
our new employees?
|
| A: At Motoman, we strive to ensure our customers understand
how to operate, maintain, program and integrate the Motoman
robots with their existing machinery. We offer operator,
programming and maintenance training on our more mature
product lines as well as our newer robotic solutions. |
| Q: What is the best way to maintain
our robot?
|
| A: This is a great question our customers typically ask us.
We recommend you service your robots at the prescribed times.
However, some of our customers have elected to take advantage
of our service programs earlier or later than recommended
based on the workload and manufacturing environment. Our AfterMarket
Support team will consult with you to develop a maintenance
strategy that would best suit your needs. |
| Q: What kind of spare parts
should we keep on-hand for our robot? |
| A: Motoman offers a Recommended Spare Parts
listing found in your maintenance manual that came with your
unit. However, due to our varying customer needs, we’ve
found it also useful to consult our AfterMarket Support personnel
to develop a package tailored to your needs. |
| Q: Does Motoman offer file management,
networking capability, and automated backups? |
| A: Most of our customers do not realize that we have the functionality
and capability to perform the functions listed above. We can
work with your I.S. and engineering staff to develop a system
that would best suit your manufacturing needs. |
| Q: Does Motoman have reference
tools to help prevent/reduce production downtime?
|
| A: The last thing we at Motoman want for our customers is
production downtime. We’ve developed a software solution
to minimize downtime. We call it our Expert Maintenance System
Software solution known as RobotPro. This software will provide
troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance procedures
to aid you in keeping your robots running for the long haul. |
| Q: My parts or process needs
have changed. Can I modify the system to handle the new product
line? |
| A: We have a department dedicated solely to
retrofitting existing equipment to meet the ever changing
automation needs of our customers. Whether you need to add
a part positioner to your cell or replace a welding torch,
our team of engineers are at your disposal to get the job
done for you and done right. |
| Q: I don't want to fool around
with setting up and programming my robots. Can Motoman do
this for me? |
| A: When our customers are installing robotic equipment for
the first time (either brand new or existing equipment from
another plant), getting the machines up and running for the
first time can be a daunting task. Motoman can provide you
with programming experts that will develop customized programs
for your application. We are proud to announce that we can
provide this service at a discount for preplanned and larger
projects. Please consult our AfterMarket team for more details. |
