Description This course consists of classroom lectures, demonstrations, discussions and hands-on practice exercises. Covered topics are related to real-world examples and applications. To create an interactive and enhanced learning environment, class size is limited to 12. To perform the hands-on practice exercises, students are typically assigned 2 to a pendant at MTEC and no more than 3 to a pendant On-Site.
Topics Primary topics include:
  • Working safely in and around the robot cell
  • Powering up/down
  • Jogging the robot using all coordinate systems
  • Modifying points
  • Checking specified point
  • Checking TCP calibration
  • Recovering from alarms and errors
  • Using a standard push-button operator station, as applicable
Overview This course is designed specifically for non-programming, robotic system Operators. Itís an introductory course that teaches safe operation of the robotic system. Upon completion, each student should have the necessary skills to understand robot movement and fault recovery, work safely in and around the robot cell, use the standard push-button operator's station, perform basic troubleshooting, and modify points.
Materials Students receive copies of handouts, which detail specific topics covered in the class. Students are urged to take notes, participate in discussions, and to bring up specific operating issues.
Length This module is a 2.0 day training class. On-Site classes are demand based and should be scheduled 60-90 days in advance to ensure availability.
