The NX100 Basic Programming with Paint Module is a course designed for programming Motoman’s EPX series industrial robots. No prior knowledge of robot programming or of the controller is required.
Primary topics include:
- Intrinsically safe pendant
- Robot Safety
- System power up/down
- Coordinate systems
- Checking specified point
- Path creation for single group jobs
- Modifying points, motion type and speed
- Recovering from alarms and errors
- Cutting and pasting instructions
- Programming I/O and control instructions
- Programming paint specific instructions
Course Overview
Classroom lectures on programming commands are reinforced with demonstrations. Commands and topics are related to real-world examples and applications. Material covered in the lectures is enhanced with actual hands-on programming by students in Motoman’s 5,200-sq.ft. training facility located in Greensburg, IN. Students work in teams to perform workshop exercises. Class size is kept small, typically 12 or fewer, to promote an interactive, hands-on learning atmosphere. Students work with each other and with the help of Motoman instructors to grasp the concepts of robot programming.
Course Materials
Students receive a copy of the NX100 Basic Programming with Paint manual which details commands and programming techniques for the Motoman controller. Additional handouts relate to specific topics covered in the class. Students are urged to take notes, participate in discussions, and to bring up specific programming issues.
