This course focuses on Seam Tracking and Seam Finding. Students are required to possess basic programming knowledge of the controller and a basic understanding of the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) process prior to attending this course. Although it is not a requirement, students are also encouraged to attend the Advanced Arc Welding course.

Course Overview
This course consists of classroom lectures, demonstrations, discussions and hands-on practice exercises. These practice exercises include actual “live arc” welding exercises, which are based on the GMAW process. A constant voltage power source and mild steel wire are used. Covered topics are related to real-world examples and applications.
Course Materials
Students receive a course outline, objectives, and a manual, which details welding commands, programming techniques, and specific topics covered in the class. Students are urged to take notes, participate in discussions, and inquire about specific operating issues.
Prerequisite
DX100 Basic Programming with Arc Welding and a basic understanding of the GMAW
