Course Overview

Classroom lectures on programming commands are reinforced with demonstrations. Commands and topics are related to real-world examples and applications. Material covered in the lectures is enhanced with actual hands-on programming by students in Motoman's 8,500-sq.ft. training facility. Students work in teams to perform workshop exercises which emphasize commands covered in class lectures. Class size is kept small, typically 12 or fewer, to promote an interactive, hands-on learning atmosphere. This allows students to work closely with each other and Motoman instructors to grasp the concepts of robot programming. Students learn to manipulate the robot, create new robot programs, modify existing programs, create backup data, and apply application-specific commands.

Course Materials

Students receive the MRC Intermediate Programming Manual and miscellaneous handouts that relate to specific topics covered in the class. Students are urged to take notes, participate in discussions, and to bring up specific programming issues
