Academy / Training / Offsite / DX200 Accelerated Programming - Motlow State CC


This course is an accelerated programming class covering both basic and advanced programming functions/instructions into a single class and is taught by a certified Yaskawa Academy Robotics Instructor. It may be beneficial to XRC, NX100 and DX100 Advanced users as a means to transition over to the next generation controller.

Course Overview

This course consists of classroom lectures, demonstrations, discussions and hands-on practice exercises. Covered topics are related to real-world examples and applications. To create an interactive and enhanced learning environment, class size is limited to 12. To perform the hands-on practice exercises, students are typically assigned 2 to a pendant at Motlow State Community College.

Course Materials

Students receive the DX200 Accelerated Programming Manual and miscellaneous handouts that relate to specific topics covered in the class. Students are urged to take notes, participate in discussions, and to bring up specific programming issues.

Prerequisite

Although no prerequisites are required, typical students who enroll in this course either have extensive previous experience or have already taken a basic programming course. If a student does not fall under either of the above categories, we highly discourage them from enrolling in this course. The class is delivered at a very fast pace for experienced programmers, covering approx. 32 chapters in (4.5) Days.

  • Working safely in and around the robot cell
  • Programming basic and advanced I/O and control instructions
  • Monitoring and using basic and advanced Arithmetic variable instructions
  • Shifting using standard shifting functions
  • Programming and editing w/ the INFORM III language
  • Monitoring and using basic and advanced position variables
  • Modifying SC parameter functions
  • Using system variables

Attendees who complete the required number of contact hours will receive a certificate of completion.  Those who meet the contact hours requirement, and score 70% or better on the final exam, will be awarded Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
