Academy / Robotics Training In-Person / NX100 Advanced Programming

Classroom lectures on programming commands are reinforced with demonstrations. Commands and topics are related to real-world examples and applications. Material covered in the lectures are enhanced with actual hands-on programming by students in Motoman's 8,500-sq.ft. training facility. Students work in teams to perform workshop exercises. Class size is kept small, typically 12 or fewer, to promote an interactive, hands-on atmosphere. Students work with each other and with the help of Motoman instructors to grasp the concepts of robot programming.

Course Overview

The NX100 Advanced Programming Module is an advanced course for the NX100 controller and programming of the Motoman HP/EA/ES- series industrial robots. Students are required to possess basic programming knowledge of the controller prior to attending this training module.

Course Materials

Students receive the NX100 Advanced Training Manual, as well as handouts that relate to specific topics covered in class. Students are urged to take notes, participate in discussions, and to bring up specific programming issues.

Prerequisite

Either the NX100 Basic Programming Module or the XRC-to-NX100 Transition Module are prerequisites to the NX100 Advanced Programming Module.

Topics

Students learn to perform advanced functions with the NX100 controller and HP/EA/ES series robots.

Primary topics include:
  • Advanced I/O programming
  • Introduction to Concurrent I/O
  • Application of variable data
  • Defining and using position variables
  • Use of system variables
  • Naming variables
  • Advanced arithmetic instructions
  • Floppy disk drive operations
  • Defining cubic interference zones
  • Setting axes soft limits
  • Job shifting
