Academy / Robotics Training In-Person / United States / DX100 Advanced Arc Weld Programming

This course provides instruction for programmers needing advanced programming and advanced welding information. Students are required to possess basic programming knowledge of the controller and a basic understanding of the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) process prior to attending this training module.

Course Overview

Classroom lectures on programming commands are reinforced with demonstrations. Commands and topics are related to real-world examples and applications. Material covered in the lectures is enhanced with actual hands-on programming by students in Motoman's 13,400-sq.ft. training facility. Students work in teams to perform workshop exercises.

Class size is kept small, typically 8 or fewer, to promote an interactive, hands-on atmosphere. Students work with each other and with the help of Motoman instructors to grasp the concepts of robot programming. To perform the hands-on practice exercises, students are typically assigned 2 to a programming pendant at Yaskawa Academy.

Course Materials

Students receive a course outline, objectives, and a manual, which details welding commands, programming techniques, and specific topics covered in the class. Students are urged to take notes, participate in discussions, and inquire about specific operating issues.

Prerequisite

DX100 Basic Programming with Arc Welding and a basic understanding of the GMAW process.
