Academy / Robotics Training In-Person / United States / DX200 Accelerated Programming with Arc Welding

This course is an accelerated learning course covering basic and advanced programming functions and instructions. It may be beneficial to XRC, NX100, FS100 and DX100 Advanced users as a transition over to the next generation controller.

PLEASE READ FIRST!

  • An Accelerated assessment is now required for all students who have not attended at least a Basic Programming class.
  • Please register for the Accelerated class to date and time stamp your request.
  • After registering we will send a link to the Accelerated Assessment in an email within 3 working days.
  • The link will expire in 7 days, access and registration must be completed within the 7 day period.
  • The assessment may be taken only one (1) time and in a continuous 45 minute time period.
  • Yaskawa Academy will NOT hold your seat UNTIL successful completion of the assessment.

An Accelerated course is designed for an associate who is proficient at programming robots and understands the basic functions of the Yaskawa pendant.   The Accelerated course is delivered at a fast pace that includes topics from both a 4 day Basic Programming course, and a 4.5 day Advanced programming course.  All topics are delivered in a 4.5 - 5 day course.  The class is designed to be delivered at a fast pace.  If you have not created programs, or have limited experience creating robot programs, the outcome may not meet your expectations.

NOTE: Keep in mind that there is not much time to experiment nor practice in order to cover all of the planned content.  Due to the amount of topics covered in both the Basic and the Advance Programming classes, only the most common topics have been selected to be covered in this class.

Course Overview

Classroom lectures on programming commands are reinforced with demonstrations. Commands and topics are related to real-world examples and applications. Material covered in the lectures is enhanced with actual hands-on programming by students in Motoman's 13,400-sq.ft. training facility. Students work in teams to perform workshop exercises. Class size is kept small, typically 12 or fewer, to promote an interactive, hands-on atmosphere. Students work with each other and with the help of Motoman instructors to grasp the concepts of robot programming. To perform the hands-on practice exercises, students are typically assigned 2 to a programming pendant at Yaskawa Academy.

Course Materials

Students receive the DX200 Accelerated Programming Manual and miscellaneous handouts that relate to specific topics covered in the class. Students are urged to take notes, participate in discussions, and to bring up specific programming issues.

Prerequisite

Students who enroll in this course must either have extensive previous robotic programming experience or have already taken a Basic Programming course.  If a student does not fall under either of the above categories, we highly discourage them from enrolling in this course. It runs at a very fast pace, covering 32 chapters in one week.

NOTE:  THIS COURSE RUNS AT A VERY FAST PACE, COVERING 32 CHAPTERS IN 4.5 - 5 DAYS.  STUDENTS ENROLLING IN THIS COURSE MUST HAVE PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE WITH JOB/PROGRAM CREATION, PROGRAMMING, EDITING, AS WELL AS JOGGING THE ROBOT(S) IN VARIOUS COORDINATES.

Topics

Primary topics include:

  • Working safely in and around the robot cell
  • Programming basic and advanced I/O and control instructions
  • Monitoring and using basic and advanced Arithmetic variable instructions
  • Shifting using standard shifting functions
  • Programming and editing w/ the INFORM III language
  • Monitoring and using basic and advanced position variables
  • Modifying SC parameter functions
  • Using system variables
  • Programming basic arc Instructions
  • Programming basic weave instructions

Notes

Training class schedules are subject to be changed without notice, based on instructor availability.  All Training classes are held in the Miamisburg, OH Training Facility unless other prior arrangements have been confirmed.

Attendees who complete the required number of contact hours will receive a certificate of completion.  Those who meet the contact hours requirement, and score 70% or better on the final exam, will be awarded Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
