Classroom lectures on maintenance procedures are reinforced with demonstrations. Commands and topics are related to real-world examples and applications. Material covered in the lectures are enhanced with actual hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting performed by students in Motoman's 8,500-sq.ft. training facility. Students perform lab exercises which reinforce topics covered in the class lectures. Class size is kept small, typically 12 or fewer, to promote an interactive, high level of hands-on learning required.


Students learn to perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on the NX100 controller and HP/ES/EA-series robots.

  • Circuit board replacement
  • I/O connections
  • Power distribution
  • Signal flow
  • Basic servo theory
  • Servopack replacement procedures
  • Speed reducer replacement
  • Motor replacement
  • Preventive maintenance schedule
  • Robot calibration procedures


The NX100 HP/EA/ES-Series Maintenance Module is a preventive maintenance/troubleshooting course for the NX100 controller and the HP/EA/ES-series industrial robots. Individuals responsible for maintenance/repair, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnosis should attend this class. NX100 Basic Programming is a prerequisite to this course. Confirmation of attendance is required


Students receive a copy of the NX100 Series Maintenance Manual which details installation, maintenance, electrical diagrams, spare parts, etc. for the HP/EA/ES-series robot models. Additional handouts relate to specific topics covered in the class. Students are urged to take notes, participate in discussions, and to bring up specific programming issues.


This module is a 3.5-day training class. On-Site classes are demand based and should be scheduled 60-90 days in advance to ensure availability.


In order to attend the 3.5 day NX Maintenance class, attendees must have attended the NX Basic Programming class. Otherwise, attendees must attend the 4.5 day NX Maintenance w/ Programming Overview.

Please note that the instructors to do not carry any spare parts.
