Academy / Robotics Training In-Person / United States / DX200 Com-Arc IV Programming

This course focuses on DX100/DX200 Seam Tracking and Seam Finding. Students are required to possess DX100/DX200 Basic Programming w/ Arc Welding knowledge of the controller and a basic understanding of the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) process prior to attending this course.  Although it is not a requirement, students are also encouraged to attend the DX100/DX200 Advanced Arc Welding course

Course Overview

Classroom lectures on theory of operations and programming commands are reinforced with demonstrations. Commands and topics are related to real-world examples and applications.  Students perform workshop exercises which emphasize topics covered in class lectures. Class size is kept small, typically 3 or fewer, to promote an interactive, hands-on learning atmosphere.  This allows students to work closely with Yaskawa Academy instructors to grasp the concepts of enhanced robot programming.  These practice exercises include actual “live arc” welding exercises, which are based on the GMAW process.  A constant voltage power source and mild steel wire are used.

Course Materials

Students receive a copy of the appropriate ComArc IV Training Manual, which details functions of the related ComArc software.  Additional handouts are provided that relate to specific topics covered in class.  Students are urged to take notes, participate in discussions, and to bring up specific programming issues.
