Among the evolving industrial landscape, company leaders are finding innovative ways to effectively manage and transform operations for greater productivity gains. This includes the integration of a record number of robotic solutions that are addressing tough challenges head-on.
From skilled worker unavailability and poor weld quality to sluggish factory workflow and more, high-performance robotic systems and their peripherals are driving manufacturing forward for a variety of industries, including: alternative energy, agricultural, appliances, automotive, consumer products, education, electronics, furniture, logistics, life sciences, machinery, medical, metal products, paper, pharmaceuticals, plastics and rubber, recreational equipment, textiles, wood products and more.
Yaskawa Solutions at SOUTHTEC 2023
To discover more about how advanced technologies, including robotic solutions, can positively impact your operations, join our industry experts at SOUTHTEC
® 2023! Produced by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT), this top southeast manufacturing trade show will take place at the Greenville Convention Center in Greenville, South Carolina (October 24-26), where the Yaskawa booth (#1137) will highlight:
Small Part Welding
Come see Yaskawa’s
most compact welding workcell! Ideal for supplementing or replacing the manual welding of small parts, such as pre-assembly before welding in larger robotic workcells, the extremely flexible ArcWorld
® HS (AWHS) will be on display. Ideal for tight production layouts, the AWHS requires only 1.4 square meters (15 sq ft) of floorspace. This model uses the six-axis AR900 arc welding robot and has a hinged station (HS) door, allowing easy access for loading and unloading of parts. The featured fixture table with a 100 kg payload capacity comes as standard and can process parts up to 550 x 500 x 1050 mm in size. An integrated weld package with a Lincoln Electric Power Wave
® R450 power source will also be on display, with supply processes accessed by the Universal Weldcom Interface (UWI).
New! 3D Bin Picking
Combining high-speed capability with a slim wrist, this demonstration utilizes the extended-reach, six-axis
GP8L robot with robust KEYENCE technology to facilitate quick and precise bin picking. The GP8L offers a 1,636 mm horizontal reach, 2,894 mm vertical reach and an 8 kg payload capacity. Likewise, the extremely precise KEYENCE 3D vision system uses pattern projections and structured lighting to accurately and efficiently recognize then pick randomly placed parts. Systems like this are ideal for part detection and inspection where 2D data can sometimes fall short due to misalignment, glare or lack of contrast. The modular and lightweight SMC gripper featured can be tailored to your specific application, facilitating precise handling of objects.
Flexible Machine Tending
Vista Automation will display an extremely flexible
machine tending workcell, featuring the fast and reliable GP12 robot with intuitive Smart Pendant. Radically changing how a robot is programmed, the
Smart Pendant uses patented built-in Smart Frame technology to make the user the frame of reference. This eliminates the use of coordinate (X, Y, Z) frames, while enabling user-friendly operation for an easier learning curve. Capable of adapting to multiple part sizes and shapes, this workcell highlights ease-of-use capability and is ideal for manufacturers looking to increase utilization of existing equipment.
